What's New For 2010-2011
Enrolling Dependents Up To Age 27
As a result of recent healthcare reform legislation, dependents up to age 27 can be enrolled beginning in the 2010-11 plan year. Health coverage provided for these dependent children is now generally tax-free which will eliminate the need to mark them as a federal or qualified tax dependent(s). However, employees enrolling a same gender domestic partner (SGDP) and SGDP children will need to mark them as a tax dependent. If not, they will default to a non-federal/non-qualified tax dependent(s) and be subject to additional taxes (imputed income).
Medical
All Medical Plans - Autism benefits have been expanded for all plans. For more information, see the online 2010-11 Evidence of Coverage booklet.
- Behavioral health services coverage will reflect similar medical specialty services coverage, including changes to a member’s out of pocket expense (copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance) and the number of allowed visits. For more information, see the online 2010-11 Evidence of Coverage booklet.
