Personal Accumulated Leave (PAL) Time
Personal Accumulated Leave (PAL) time is your vacation and sick time here at UPI. All regular full and part-time employees are currently eligible for PAL time. PAL is primarily for scheduled time-off needs.
PAL time accrual is based on all paid hours excluding overtime and extra regular. PAL time accrual rates are based on length of continuous employment with UPI, as outlined below:
- New-hire through third (3rd) year anniversary – This accrual currently equates to a maximum of fifteen (15) days per year.
- Third (3rd) year anniversary throughout employment – This accrual currently equates to a maximum of twenty (20) days per year.
An employee may accumulate a balance of more than the 160 throughout the calendar year, however, he/she must have no more than the 160 hours as of December 31st of every year.
